Peppermint footscrub/refreshing footsoak
How does a refreshing footscrub or a cooling footsoak sound? Here's how you can make it yourself, inexpensively, from natural ingredients. You're gonna thank yourself later, it in the summer heat!:)
What you'll need:
- Mixingbowl
- Spoon
- Sea salt
- Some type of oil (olive, argan, jojoba, grape seed, etc.)
- Peppermint essential oil (or any other kind you like)
- Optional: Colored bathsalt, or natural food coloring
- Jar or container with lid
How to make it:
- In a large bowl, mix together sea salt with colored bath salt until you reach the desired shade. You can also use food coloring but you should add that after the oils.
- Add your base oil to the salt until it's the consistency of wet sand. Add 10-20 drops of essential oil depending on how strong you want the scent to be.
- If you have the right color, consistency and scent, transfer the scrub into a container (preferably something pretty).
- You can use it two ways: As a scrub it gets rid of dead skin cells and massages your feet. But if you want to make a cooling, refreshing footsoak, put 1-2 spoonful of it in lukewarm or even cool water and soak your feet for 10-15 minutes.
- It's a great gift too, you can add a label to it, that shows the ingredients and explains how to use it!
