Easter egg surprise
What you'll need
- Plastic egg that you can open (craft store)
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Scotch tape
- Ribbons
- Scissors
- Felt
- Small gift items/candy
How to make it:
The egg:
- Apply 2-3 thin layers of acrylic paint on the outside of the egg. It's a little see-through after only one layer, but you can also leave it like that if you like. Let all the layers dry completely before applying the next one. Try to use straight brushstrokes to get an even surface.
- If you want to decorate the egg with a ribbon that doesn't fit through the hole, wrap one end of the ribbon in Scotch tape and then you'll be able to thread it through.
- You can fill the finished egg with small gifts or sweets. I've decided to hide chocolate and a necklace in each of them. For that I needed to make a tiny envelopes so they wouldn't get damaged.
The envelope:
- Draw and cut out a shape from the felt, following the pictures. Make the center rectangle shape the size you want your finished envelope to be.
- Put glue on the edges marked with the white lines.
- Fold in he side flaps, then fold the bottom part onto them and push down on it. Wait a few seconds until it dries.
- If you want your envelope to close properly, cut one or two short slits in the front. You can push the corner of the top part through these to close the envelope.
