French onion soup
Ingredients:
- 5-6 onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- olive oil
- butter
- wholemeal flour (about 2 tbs.)
- 2 l water
- 2 bouillon cubes
- salt
- ground mixed pepper
- cheese
- toast
How to make it:
- Boil 2 liters of water in a large pot and add the bouillon cubes to it.
- Peel the onions and cut them into 1 cm slices.
- In a pan, sauté the onions on a mix of olive oil and butter. When it's half translucent, add the thinly sliced garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- When the onion is soft enough, sprinkle the flour on top, stir it, and lightly fry it.
- Pour the contents of the pan into the broth and mix it well. Cook for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve it with grated cheese and toast.
