Pasta with asparagus and ham

Ingredients:

  • spaghetti pasta (1 serving=about 100 g=3.5 oz)
  • 1 onion
  • 500 g green asparagus
  • 100 g sliced deli ham
  • 2 dl cooking cream (10 % fat content)
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • grated cheese

How to make it:

  • Simmer the finely chopped onion on a little bit of oil.
  • Rinse the asparagus and cut off the root ends. Cut it into 1-2 cm pieces and add it to the onion. (You can add a little water too, if needed.)
  • When the asparagus is almost soft, add the sliced ham, season it with salt and pepper, then put a lid on it and let it cook for a few minutes.
  • In the mean time, cook the pasta and when it's still chewy (al dente), add it to the asparagus. 
  • Add the cream and cook on low heat, stirring frequently until it thickens.
  • Serve it with some grated cheese on top.
